Kareri Lake, also known as Kumarwah Lake, is a serene freshwater lake nestled to the south of the majestic Dhauladhar range. The trek to this pristine lake meanders through dense forests adorned with towering pine and oak trees. As you ascend, the breathtaking view of the Dhauladhar peaks unfolds before you. Along the trek, be enchanted by the presence of quaint waterfalls and glistening streams that gracefully accompany your journey until you reach the summit.

Itinerary

Morning Pickup: Departure from Dharamshala Bus stand in a shared taxi.

Kareri Village Start: Trek commencement from Kareri Village towards Riyoti.

Trek Duration: Approximately 4-5 hours to reach Riyoti.

Lunch Break: Enjoy a hot lunch at the campsite, along with snacks and tea en route.

Forest Trail: Traverse through a mixed forest of Pine and Deodar trees.

Dinner and Accommodation: Dinner will be served, followed by an overnight stay in tents at Riyoti.

Early Morning Trek: Begin trekking towards Kareri Lake after breakfast, lasting around 4-5 hours.

Lunch En Route: Enjoy lunch along the trekking path.

Accommodation: Spend the night in tents near Kareri Lake.

Morning Return: Start the journey back to Kareri Village, taking approximately 5-6 hours.

Drive to Dharamshala: Depart for Dharamshala, which is about a 1.5-hour drive from Kareri Village.
